In September 2000, Tiviski signed a license agreement with CANDIA, the French leader on the milk market

This agreement gives TIVISKI access to CANDIA's know-how and technical expertise, particularly with long-shelf-life (UHT) milk. As a result, TIVISKI will manufacture UHT milk under the CANDIA brand.

In October 2000, the inernational organization Slow Food 'Arcigola' selected TIVISKI for one of the first Slow Food Awards for the defence of biodiversity. The Award was presented in Bologna, Italy, during a beautiful ceremony.

In January 2001, the first stone of the new UHT plant was laid by the Minister of Industry and Mining, together with three other Cabinet Ministers : Rural Development and Environment, Economic Affairs and Development, and Finance.
 
In February 2001 the Mauritanian Government honoured TIVISKI with the Order of National Merit.

 
In May 2001 the Vice-President of the World Bank for Africa visited the dairy.
 
November 2001 : The European Union included Mauritania in column C of the list of countries allowed to export dairy products to Europe, subject to a number of problems being solved. Camel cheese is not yet on the European market, but it is one step nearer.

 

 

15 April 202 : inauguration of the UHT-sterilized milk plant, presided on by H.E. the Minister of Mining and Industry.

Mr. Michel Thouly, Chairman of Candia, and Mr. Jean-Luc Deher, International Development Manager, came from France. Four Ministers and many honourable guests attended.

The ¤ 3,000,000 plant makes a single product at the moment : UHT cow milk, containing exclusively fresh cow milk. The development of long-shelf-life camel milk is under way ..

 
4 - 9 June 2002 : TIVISKI took part in CheeseArt, an event organized by CORFILAC in Ragusa, Sicily, on the subject of Mediterranean cheeses. CARAVANE was tasted and well appreciated.
 
H.E. the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde visited the dairy, accompanied by H.E. the Prime Minister of Mauritania.
