Milk, the first food in life
Mother's milk is a complete food that caters for all a fast-growing newborn baby needs. Later, all through life and particularly during adolescence, milk remains a significant source of benefits, providing:

1. Proteins - essential for body growth and maintenance,
2. Fatty acids - enrergy-giving, and required for cellular balance,
3. Calcium - for healthy bones and teeth,
4. Vitamins - particularly vitamin A.

Pasteurised milk also contains some beneficial microflora.
